Endangered and lesser used languages
Much of my work has been on Scottish Gaelic, an endangered Celtic language spoken mainly in Scotland, though there is something of a diasporic community and a vigorous learner community. I’ve written descriptive papers on the morphology and the syntax of the language, as well as more theoretical papers where Gaelic features as a case study. I’ve also worked with my colleague Daniel Harbour on the highly endangered Native American language Kiowa.
